These songs are an offering of love by Mata Devi Vanamali to her beloved Vanamali (another name for Krishna).
A booklet is included which contains the Sanskrit chants with English translation.
Mata Devi Vanamali has no classical training in music and no idea of ragas or music compositions. However, these lyrics as well as the melodies poured out of her without any conscious volition on her part. They were entirely inspired and instigated by Lord Vanamali Himself.
The songs betray the intense pain felt by the devotee when the Lord refuses to reveal Himself. It is an agaonizing experience for the devotee who longs for nothing but a glimpse of her beloved's face to find that her cries are to no avail.
Mataji starts the CD with a song to Parthsarathi, the charioteer of Arjuna, the Supreme Guru. The other songs show the anguish of her heart when her Lord hides Himself behind the veil of maya.
The recording ends on a happy note when her beloved Lord assures her that He is ever dwelling in the temple of her heart.
