Greetings, I'm Beverly Lynn Bennett, and I'm passionate about vegan cuisine! I've been working in restaurants, in one form or another, for the past 22 years. At the age of 12, I started out helping wash dishes at the club that my parents belonged to, and the rhythm and pulse of working in a busy kitchen began to get in my blood. I later would work my way up through the ranks of various restaurants, and I eventually became a certified foodservice operations manager as well as acquiring a culinary arts degree from the University of Akron. In 1987, I became a vegetarian, and a few years later I went completely vegan, and it was the best decision I ever made! I never felt healthier, and knowing that I was no longer contributing to animal suffering made me feel even better. As a vegan, I can bake and sauté with the best of them, and I'm passionate about showing the world just how delicious food actually can be when it's free of animal products.

In the early 1990s, I was fortunate enough to discover that a few vegetarian restaurants actually existed in Northeast Ohio, where I lived at the time. There I was finally able, as a chef, to put my culinary talents to work without compromising my beliefs. I worked at several vegetarian restaurants in the years that would follow, my favorite of which was the famed Zephyr vegetarian restaurant near Kent State University, where I worked for four years as chef. From 1998 to 2000 I was the vegan chef at Tabor's Thyme Cafe, formerly a mostly organic, vegetarian restaurant in Berea, Ohio. I recently decided to take some time away from working in restaurants in order to devote more time to completing recipes for my upcoming cookbooks, as well as spreading the vegan message through vegan cooking demonstrations, in addition to my work on this site and other media outlets. My husband and I recently relocated to the very vegan-friendly city of Eugene, Oregon, and we're loving it!

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, traveling, and entering cooking contests. I have been a finalist in both local and national contests with my vegan recipes. In 1999, I won first place in two local cooking contests, one with my Vegetarian French Onion Soup, and another with Farfalle with Roasted Vegetables. My recipes have regularly appeared in the Recipes of the Week section of Ohio's Medina County Gazette. I also appeared live on WVIZ, the PBS affiliate in Cleveland, where I demonstrated my Vegan Baked Potato Soup recipe live on the air for a PBS fundraiser. The program, entitled "P is for Potatoes," featured local chefs from the Cleveland area, none of which were vegan or vegetarian except me, and has since been rebroadcast around 10 times in my area and in neighboring Kentucky. The positive feedback I received from viewers was overwhelmingly encouraging!

In late 2000, I had the opportunity to perform a vegan cooking demo at Taste of Health Healthy Food Festival in Seattle, Washington, sponsored by EarthSave Seattle. My presentation was entitled "Brunch with the Vegan Chef" and included "Cheese" Quesadillas with Berry and Peach Fruit Salsa, Italian Tempeh Sausages, Scrambled Tofu Florentine, and Sunburst Smoothie. It was a wonderful experience, and it allowed me to meet and connect with so many other vegans. I also got the thrill of a lifetime when I had the opportunity to meet one of the most influential people in the vegan movement, and someone that has had a great influence on me personally, the great vegan author, thinker, and speaker Jo Stepaniak.

In 2002, I became a monthly columnist for the best vegan publication anywhere, VegNews Magazine. My column, "Dairy-Free Desserts," features some of my recipes for vegan goodies that aren't available on this site or anywhere else. Unlike other publications such as Vegetarian Times and Veggie Life, VegNews is completely vegan-oriented and is on the cutting edge of reporting on what's happening in the world of veganism. This just in: Dairy-Free Desserts was just awarded the 2005 Veggie Award for favorite VegNews column. Many thanks for this great honor, readers!

In 2005, I wrote The Complete Idiot's Guide to Vegan Living with my husband Ray. It hit the stands on December 6, 2005, and is now available in bookstores and online at Amazon.com. The first vegan book in the popular Idiot's Guide series, the book's 384 pages are jam-packed with all kinds of useful info relating to many aspects of vegan life, including 50 brand new recipes!

Returns Policy

Your satisfaction is extremely important to us. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with an item you ordered from us, you can return it for a full reimbursement - minus any re-stocking fees (see below), any time within 30 days of your receipt of an item. We'll also refund the shipping cost if the return is a result of our error. We cannot reimburse your shipping costs for any item that is returned at your discretion. Here are the general guidelines for returning products:

All items must be in their original, new, condition.

CD's, VHS tapes, audio books, and DVD's must by unopened, unless they are defective.

There is up to a 15% re-stocking fee for returned items - depending on the item. Many items do not have a re-stocking fee. Our distributors charge this fee, not us.

Items shipped directly from the manufacturer or a distributor may need to be returned directly to the manufacturer or distributor, and NOT to us. Therefore please call us before returning any items.

We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 to 14 business days of our receiving your return. If your return is not due to our error, the refund will not include shipping costs.

Shipping within the United States

You will receive a confirmation of your order via e-mail, usually within 15 minutes. Please make sure that your email spam program is set to receive emails from "@innerpath.com". If you do not receive an order confirmation within 15 minutes, please also check your junk mail folder. Orders are usually shipped within 2-3 business days. In the United States we ship U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail or United Parcel Service. Please note that items in your order may ship separately from different locations. So allow sufficient time for all parts of your order to arrive. Shipping outside the United States

For overseas and Canadian shipping, please check "Email Me My International Shipping Quote $0.00". We will then email you the options for shipping to your country. Please note: If you select a shipping method that is not insured, after we ship it from the US we have no control over what the postal service in your country will do.
