Recorded in the calm and peaceful vibrations of the hills surrounding Assisi, Italy, Joy Is God captures and fully conveys the sweetness and deep devotion of Saint Francis.
As you open your heart and consciously absorb the vibrations permeating every note, you will find those qualities reawakened within you.
These instrumental selections feature flute, violin, cello, guitar, and keyboard and are performed by instrumentalists from various countries of Europe and United States.
Joy Is God has been often praised by Donald Walters, composer of all the tracks, as one of his favorite and most played recordings.
In performing these pieces we have observed how this music, apparently so simple, harmonious and full of joy, has the power to affect consciousness and deeply transform the human spirit.
Written from a state of expanded consciousness, the intention of the music is to affect and transform. The vibrational quality of music, as all ancient people were acutely aware, has a profound effect on our energy system and can subtly alter, heal and uplift.

About The Harmony Duo
Ramesha (Fabio) Nani - received his Diploma in violin performance from the Music Conservatory in Como (Italy). But by the time he had finished his studies he had become disillusioned with music as a career and instead became a music teacher in his hometown of Lugano, Switzerland. During this time he shifted his musical focus to studying voice with S—wiss soprano, Giovanna Zaugg-Casella. Years later, during repeated visits to the Ananda meditation and retreat center in Assisi (Italy), Ramesha was introduced to Ananda Music, and as he tuned into it more deeply he felt himself changing. His love of the violin was rekindled and he began to play again. But now, music has a completely different meaning for him. He realizes that what matters most is not how well he plays or sings, but rather how open he is as a channel for blessings to flow through the music and touch people's hearts. A longtime disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda, a Kriyaban and an Ananda minister, Ramesha teaches music at Ananda College of Living Wisdom and performs as part of The Harmony Duo, together with his wife, Bhagavati.
Bhagavati (Sharon Brooks) Nani - received her Master of Music in flute performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. For many years she performed and recorded with a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles in the greater Bay Area, including the San Francisco Opera and The Women's Philharmonic. She began focusing on music as a ministry after finding Ananda and being initiated in Kriya Yoga in the late 90's. Bhagavati plays and sings on various Ananda CDs (Secrets of Love, Relax: for Flute and Cello, I Came From Joy, and Scegli la gioia), as well her own CD, Illuminating Grace: Songs of Joy and Devotion. In 2002, she moved to Ananda Assisi (Italy), where she toured for two years as part of the Ananda Singers. Later, she and her husband, Ramesha—who are both Ananda ministers—helped lead the meditation group in Lugano (Switzerland), where they also taught meditation classes to adults and children. They returned to the United States in 2006 to participate more fully in the music ministry at Ananda Village. Bhagavati particularly loves when listeners share their stories of how deeply they were affected by the experience of listening to Ananda Music.
